If you are a beginner.....
...an introduction lesson is recommended. In an hour I explain what Tai Chi Chuan is, do a little demonstration and we do some movements. I answer all your questions, so you get a good idea what you start. In this lesson I do a lot more talking than in my regular classes. Because I teach adults and I believe it is better that you know what you are doing, even if it takes a while before you can do it yourself. After that you can just join a beginners class on Sunday or Monday evenings or in de morning on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
Why Do Tai Chi?
Serena Scott Thomas:
" Tai Chi Chuan is intelligent moving. With proper posture and alignment you strengthen your core and reduce the amount of impact on your body. It helps to prevent injuries with the strength you acquire in your core. You acquire balance and stability and also the confidence to move further and faster. With proper alignment you reduce the amount of impact on your joints and you lessen the amount of muscle fatigue through muscle abuse and overload. "
Maybe you want to feel better in general, maybe you have a special focus in mind. Wether you are new to Tai Chi or have practiced it before, you will always find, in the wide variety of Chi Kung movements, new ways to improve your health, balance and inner calm.
You need no special clothing, (just a comfortable pair of trousers and a t-shirt) and no other equipment than your own body. We practice barefoot. If your condition is low, you can enjoy Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung, sitting down. Chi Kung is a gentle and kind way to help you building up strength when recovering.
With Yin comes Yang, with active comes passive, so there will always be some short meditation in every lesson.
Linda teaches both one-to-one and small group sessions in Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Kung, Tui Shou and meditation, at West Bay Lagoon Compound (near Zig Zag Towers, Lagoona Mall, opposite the Doha Golf Club).

Workshops
You are organizing a seminar for your company and want to offer 'something extra' to boast and stimulate your participants? A short Tai Chi workshop will do the trick. It will help to unblock people and lower their level of stress, without leaving them to much distracted to do their job afterwards. Or it can help them to relax after a busy day and send them home feeling better about themselves. It's easier than yoga or meditation and with the same effects.
Linda Aarts is available for workshops for companies who like to offer their employees training, to be more relaxed, less stressed, better communicating, to be more alert, healthier and simply feeling better.
Why not, instead of a company breakfast, try starting a meeting with half an hour of Chi Kung? You will find your members more relaxed and foccused at the same time. Your guests don't need to dress up, nor shower, the exercises don't need any experience, or a good physical condition. They can be done, if necessary, sitting down on a chair.
