Chi Kung

Chi Kung (Qigong or chi gong) is the practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation. With roots in Chinese medicine, martial arts and philosophy, Chi Kung is traditionally viewed as the practice to cultivate and balance chi (qi) or what has been translated as 'intrinsic life energy'. Typically a Chi Kung practice involves rhythmic breathing coördinated with slow stylized repetition of fluid movement, a calm mindful state, and visualisation of guiding chi through the body. Chi Kung is now practiced worldwide as well as throughout China, and is considered by some to be a form of exercise, and by others to be a type of alternative medicine or meditative practice. From a philosophical perspective, Chi Kung is believed to help develop human potential, allow access to higher realms of awareness, and awaken one's 'true nature'.
